HOSTEL TO ACCOMODATE 200 STUDENTS AND TEACHERS I AS A LIFE MEMBER OF THE HARTLEY NSW BRANCH AM PREPARED FUND-RAISING FOR THE SWIMMING POOL. MY FRIEND AND UNI BATCH MATE-MR.GODWIN SILVA, RETIRED PRINCIPAL, DHARMASOKA VIDYALAYA, AMBALANGODA LAUNCHED AND BUILT A SWIMMING POOL FOR HIS SCHOOL. HE CAN BE A CONSULTANT TOO. IT IS POSSIBLE TO LOBBY FOR CENTRAL AND PROVINCIAL GOVT ASSISTANCE FOR THIS PROJECT. A HOSTEL IS A MUST IF HARTLEY IS TO CONTINUE AS A NATIONAL SCHOOL. I THEN EMBARKED ON A RESEARCH, TO THIS QUERY AND FOUND THE INFORMATION, WHICH IS GIVEN BELOW.THIS INFORMATION, I BELEIVE WOULD BE OF INTEREST TO ALL HARTLEITES, PAST, PRESENT AND FUTURE. "1838: Rev. Dr. Peter Percival, Scholar and Educationist, who complied the English Tamil Dictionary and translated the Bible into Tamil found the School with the name "Wesleyan Mission Central School." 1916: Rev. It is curious that like most of us I do not know ( I presume), why the school was named after Mr. Hartley 1.Why was the school named after HARTLEY? 2.Who was he? 3.Can we have a biography of him?
